LIBRARY HAPPENINGS NOVEMBER 15-21

ADULT SERVICES:
On Monday, November 15, at 7 p.m., historian Bill Haase will present the program 40 People I'd Like to Invite to Dinner--2 at a Time. If you could invite any 2 people from the past to dinner, who would they be and what would you talk about? That is the concept behind this program. What 40 famous personages has Mr. Haase chosen for 20 fantasy dinners? Come tonight and find out. Register online.

On Tuesday, November 16 November 23, the Evening Book Group will be meeting at 7:30 p.m. in Kids Korner to discuss Willa Cather's The Song of the Lark--small town girl gets a chance to go to the big city to realize her dream of a career in music. For more information, call Chris Mika at extension 272.

Have you been wanting to see The Lion King but have not wanted to face the hassle of getting to downtown Chicago? Why not join the bus trip scheduled for Wednesday, November 17. The $57 ticket will include the bus ride there and back, a "brown bag lunch", and a balcony seat. For more information, call Jill Derkits.

Now that you have a computer at home, how do you maintain it, add or delete programs, update it, or prevent a virus? On Thursday, November 18, at 7 p.m., Eric Brodsky will discuss how to Tune Up Your Computer. Register online.

YOUTH SERVICES:
At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, November 16, all 2011 Battle of the Books participants and their parents will have a meeting to go over the rules and procedures. Information about availability, team names, and personal name spelling will be verified at this time.

The newest version of a Christmas classic, Disney's A Christmas Carol featuring Jim Carrey, will be shown in Kids Korner on Wednesday, November 17, at 4 p.m. No tickets are needed. Snacks are permitted. Rated PG.

Family Reading Night--Pajama Party 2010 will be held on Thursday, November 18, at 7 p.m. in Kids Korner. Bring the kids in their pajamas (along with their teddies and blankets) and listen to favorite stories while enjoying some milk and cookies. If a parent would like to read a specific story, please call Youth Services (extension 268) to let them know the book title. Register online for this statewide event.

This is the last week for regularly scheduled story times until January.
