LIBRARY HAPPENINGS JULY 23-29

ADULT SERVICES:
On Wednesday, July 25, at 7 p.m., the Friends of the Library will be sponsoring Never Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog:
Bob Schwartz, executive VP of Vienna Beef and author of "Never Put Ketchup on a Hot Dog" talks about hot dogs and hot dog stands throughout the years with an emphasis on Chicago. Don't miss this "loving tribute to wienie stands" as well as a homage to passion and the people behind those stands. Little hot dogs, but NO KETCHUP will be served.

Register online.

On Thursday morning, July 26, the latest Bus Trip will take participants on a Wrigley Field Tour & Lunch @ the Cubby Bear.  Go behind the scenes at the famous ball park, then enjoy a buffet lunch at the appropriately-named restaurant.  Tickets are $46 and can be purchased at the Circulation Desk.

YOUTH SERVICES:
Local high school Junior Jennifer Bolek will be presenting a workshop on writing poetry--and other writing forms--on Monday, July 23, at 3 p.m.  There will also be opportunities to share personal compositions.  Mrs. M will help participants to create a writing journal.  Pizza will be available, too.  This class is open to students in grades 6 and up.  Register online.

The final Friday Program of the summer will be July 27 at 11 a.m.  The popular Madcap Puppets are returning with their new show, Rumplestiltskin.  No tickets are needed.  All ages are welcome, but preschoolers must come with an adult.  Strollers will not be permitted in the room because of space limitations.

Reminder:  this is the last week for Youth Summer Reading.  The final raffle will be on Monday, July 30. Prizes will still be available for pick-up for a few more weeks.  Please check  online or at the YS Reference Desk to see the list of raffle winners--many, many gift certificates are still unclaimed.
