LIBRARY HAPPENINGS NOVEMBER 26-DECEMBER 2

ADULT SERVICES:
Today is the last day to bring in a toy for the Toy Swap Time on Thursday, November 29, at 7 p.m.  Vouchers will be presented to patrons donating mint condition toys.  On Thursday, patrons will then be able to use their vouchers to "buy" the toys collected ("cost" will be 1, 2. or 3 vouchers per toy).  Register online.

YOUTH SERVICES:
There are still some openings for the Thursday, November 29, Gingerbread Storytime at 10 a.m.   There will be stories and an opportunity to make a graham cracker gingerbread house.  Register online.

LIBRARY HAPPENINGS NOVEMBER 19-25

REMINDER:  The Library will be closed all day on Thursday, November 22, for the Thanksgiving holiday.  On Friday, November 23, the Library will only be open until 5 p.m. because the Village Tree Lighting Ceremony will begin at 5:30.  Parking in the back lot will be prohibited on Friday because of the fireworks .

This is the last week for regular Youth programming.  The final Fall Story Times, Baby Tales, and Science and More will be held on Monday and Tuesday.  No programs are scheduled for Wednesday, November 21.

FRIENDS HOLIDAY BOOKSALE

The Friends of the Library will be having their annual Holiday Book Sale on Friday, November 16, from 3-7 p.m.,  and on Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m.  Books and other items of gift-giving quality will be available.

LIBRARY HAPPENINGS NOVEMBER 12-18

ADULT SERVICES:
Register online for Crohn's Disease 101, presented by Patient Advocate Kelly Burton. Crohn's Disease can affect children as well as adults.  It is also a chronic disease.  Ms. Burton will discuss methods of managing the disease as well as presenting facts about it.

YOUTH SERVICES:
The Parent Meeting for the upcoming 2013 Battle of the Books  will be tonight, Monday, November 12, at 6 p.m.  Besides a general overview of the program and the requirements, there will be a mock battle by previous participants to show how the matches will be conducted.  Please contact Mrs. Casper at extension 248 for more information.

Instead of the usual Wednesday Night Story Time, we will be celebrating Family Reading Night at 6:30 p.m.  Parents are encouraged to read from favorite storybooks (sign up in Youth Services).  Juice and cookies will be served.  Pajamas can be worn.

LIBRARY HAPPENINGS NOVEMBER 5-11

ADULT SERVICES:
The next Bus Trip will be on Wednesday, November 7, to go see I Love Lucy Live on stage at the Broadway Playhouse in Chicago. Be a part of the studio audience as 2 episodes of the famous TV series are performed as if filmed.  There will even be "commercial jingles".  The bus leaves at 5:30 p.m. and returns around 10:30.  A "Brown Bag Dinner"  will be provided.  Tickets, $72,  are available at the Circulation Desk.

Register online for Internet Basics, offered on Friday, November 9, at 9:30 a.m.  Geared to the absolute beginner, this class will cover toolbars, hyperlinks, urls, and more.

YOUTH SERVICES:
The Chess Tournament will be held on Saturday, November 10. at 1:30 p.m.  This event is open to any interested child in grades K-8.  It is not a requirement to have taken the classes offered at the Library.  Register online.
