Full-Time Event and Programs Coordinator

Qualifications
Degree in communications, graphic design, public relations, education, or related field, or equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge and abilities have been achieved. At least two years of experience in library programming, event planning, or program coordination is strongly desired. Experience in a public library preferred. Applicant must have personal vehicle and valid driver's license.

Artistic ability and creativity.  Time management skills to complete detailed work accurately, efficiently, and on time, with minimal supervision.


Responsibilities
Seeking a creative, service-oriented individual with outstanding communication and analytical skills to create memorable experiences for library patrons and the community.

  • Select, budget, schedule, promote, and host a variety of library programs and special events throughout the year.
  • Working closely with internal team members, external agencies, and vendors, the Program and Events Coordinator aims to increase patron engagement in the library.
  • Promotes community interest by providing an attractive environment through creative displays and seasonal décor.
  • Creates the library's quarterly newsletter; drafts press releases and other forms of marketing; designs and creates communications materials for internal and external audiences including brochures, flyers, and signs for library classes and programs.
  • Produces or assists at special events such as staff recognition, holiday parties, staff meetings, and library celebrations.
  • Facilitates library participation with the public, and acts as the liaison with Friends of the Library and other associations.


Hours
35-hour work week, generally Monday-Friday, 9am - 5pm. A flexible schedule is required including evenings and weekends in support of programs and events.


Salary
$21.39 per hour
