We're offering temporary library cards to Elk Grove Village residents who don't have a library card or whose library card has expired.

Email us at letsgetdigital@egvpl.org with your name and address to request a temporary library card. You will receive a temporary library card number within 24 hours, and it will be active until the Library reopens.

After that time, you can come in to the Library to request a permanent card.

Connect to the Library's free WiFi!

Need to connect to the internet, but don't have WiFi at home? The Library has expanded its WiFi connection to reach out into the first two rows of its south parking lot, closest to the building. It is available 24/7 for free while we are closed. See the map below for the service area.

How to Connect
  • Open your device's WiFi settings.
  • Look for "egvpl-hotspot" in the list of networks available.
  • Click or tap on "egvpl-hotspot" to connect.

    1. Hello, Karen! We are planning on reopening library services one step at a time beginning today (June 1) with our outdoor book drop. We also plan on rolling out a curbside pickup service within the next couple of weeks. We'll know more information about this later this week. Thank you for your patience!

  3. Will you please reopen the library? This is ridiculous. It's easy to social distance in a building as large as yours.
