The Library Reopens July 13: What You Need to Know


The Elk Grove Village Library is excited to announce we will be reopening on Monday, July 13. We have missed you and are happy to welcome you back!


Please know, our priority is your safety and the safety of our staff. With this in mind, the library will temporarily look different.

Here is what you can expect:
 
Safety Guidelines
(Updated October 26, 2020)
  • Everybody must wear a mask, practice social distancing, and follow directional signage while in the building.
  • Please limit your visit to no more than one hour so that all may use the library in a safe and socially distant manner.
  • Indoor and outdoor book drops are open to accept returns. Staff will be unable to take items directly from patrons.
  • All returned material will be quarantined for 3 days. 
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and utilize our virtual services.

We continue to monitor the situation in Illinois and will expand our services with your safety in mind. The Library is prepared to move back to earlier service stages if the health, safety, and well-being of our staff members and community members would require that action. To stay open, we need to stay safe.
