Covid-19 Update: Revised Safety Guidelines at Elk Grove Village Library (updated June 11, 2021)

Revised Face Covering Policy
(Updated June 11, 2021)

Per guidance by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and in accordance with the updated Executive Order released by Governor Pritzker on May 17, 2021, individuals who have been fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are no longer required to wear a face covering in the Elk Grove Village Public Library or while participating in programs.

Since the start of the pandemic, the Elk Grove Village Library has followed the guidelines from the Illinois Department of Public Health and Centers for Disease Control in order to safely operate our facility.

The Elk Grove Village Public Library will continue to respect State guidelines by advising visitors over the age of 2 who are not fully vaccinated to cover their nose and mouth with a face covering and maintain a six-foot social distance while inside the Library or attending programs. Library staff who are not fully vaccinated are required to continue wearing masks and maintaining a six-foot social distance while at work.

We continue to monitor the situation in Illinois and will expand our services with your safety in mind. The Library is prepared to move back to earlier service stages if the health, safety, and well-being of our staff members and community members would require that action. To stay open, we need to stay safe.
