Take a Hike: Read Explore Discover
June 12 - September 10, 2023
Ages 14 years and older
Take a hike away from your reading comfort zone with our National Parks-themed reading program. Read 5 books from 5 of the 12 categories that feature a different National Park to earn a program t-shirt. Choose from our suggested reading lists or displays, or choose any title that fits the category descriptions. For each book or category you complete, you will earn a ticket to enter in our prize drawings. Prize winners will be announced September 10. Sign up in person at the Adult Services Reference Desk or online through Beanstack.

Youth Services
National Parks 4 U.S.
June 12 - July 28, 2023
Ages birth to grade 8
Experience the National Parks this summer at the Elk Grove Village Public Library and hike along with us on an adventure during our Summer Reading Program. Read a good book, learn something new, be creative, or play games. Opening Day includes a meet-and-greet with costumed characters and a trail treat for those who sign up on June 12. A total of eight (8) tickets will be given to those who register for the reading program. For each book you read from one of our categories, place one ticket into the prize bin of your choice. The drawing of prizes will take place on July 28. Sign up in person at the Youth Services Reference Desk or online through Beanstack.
