The Library Reopens February 1: What You Need to Know

The Elk Grove Village Library is excited to announce, as of February 1st, the building is open to the public. We have missed seeing you and are happy to welcome you back once again!

Please know, our priority is your safety and the safety of our staff. With this in mind, the Library will temporarily look different.

Here is what you can expect:
 
Safety Guidelines
(Updated June 2, 2021)
  • Masks are optional for fully vaccinated patrons. Please continue to practice social distancing, and follow directional signage while in the building.
  • A limit of 150 visitors will be allowed inside the Library at any given time.
    (There is no time limit for how long patrons can stay in the building.)
  • Limited seating is available with more coming once the State of Illinois enters Phase 5 of the Restore Illinois plan.
  • Indoor and outdoor book drops are open to accept returns. Staff will be unable to take items directly from patrons.
  • Returned materials will no longer be quarantined.
  • If you are not feeling well, please stay home and utilize our virtual services.

We continue to monitor the situation in Illinois and will expand our services with your safety in mind. The Library is prepared to move back to earlier service stages if the health, safety, and well-being of our staff members and community members would require that action.
